Military Family Appreciation Month
Family separation…frequent moves…school changes…the list of sacrifices military families make every day is long. But their commitment to the United States is unwavering. Military spouses and children support their soldier, helping the service member do what they need to do to protect America. To honor military families and their dedication to our country, every year the President of the United States signs a proclamation declaring November as Military Family Appreciation Month.
During this month all Americans are encouraged to pay tribute to military families. Many MWR facilities observe the month by holding special events for military families like dinners, parties, ceremonies, fun runs, bowling, and other activities. Businesses may offer military discounts, and schools and military-related organizations often run contests or sweepstakes.
